The 24 Hours of Le Mans is the world's oldest sports car race in endurance racing, held annually since 1923 near the town of Le Mans, France. It is organised by the ACO and runs on a circuit containing closed public roads that are meant not only to test a car and driver's ability to be quick, but also to last over a 24 hour period.
I have been to Le Mans three times (2004, 2006 and 2010) but have only decided to collect the 48 cars that participated  in the four different classes - LMP1/GTP, LMP2, GTS and GT - in the race.

My first collection of Le Mans slotcars from the 2004 race - this was my first visit to Le Mans and of cause I had to collect these beautiful cars!

it was the year with manufactures such as Mercedes, Nissan, Jaguar, Porsche, Toyota, Mazda and Aston Martin - it was time to settle the score!

The race turned out very chaotic, due to the rain in almost all 24 hours of the race. The extreme conditions resulted in that only seven cars were classified in the race - which is the lowest number ever in Le Mans.

My oldest daugther Tine has painting some of these beautiful cars on canvas for me.

Check in out here.
